เมื่อวันที่ 28 เมษายน 2562  ฝ่ายการเกษตร ประจำสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส ในฐานะทีมประเทศไทย ได้เปิดตัวทุเรียนพันธุ์พวงมณีในงานเทศกาลสงกรานต์ปีใหม่ไทยของชุมชนขาวไทยในนครลอสแอนเจลิส โดยได้จัดแสดงและแจกให้ผู้เข้าร่วมงานได้ทดลองชิมรสชาติ เพื่อการส่งเสริมและผลักดันการขยายตลาดสินค้าเกษตรไทยให้หลากหลายยิ่งขึ้น รวมทั้งตอบสนองต่อแนวทางนโยบายการแก้ไขปัญหาผลผลิตทุเรียนล้นตลาด ทั้งนี้ ทุเรียนพันธุ์พวงมณีได้รับการตอบรับเป็นอย่างดีทั้งในเรื่องของรสชาติ ขนาดผลเล็กสามารถบริโภคในครั้งเดียวซึ่งเหมาะกับพฤติกรรมการบริโภคตามวิถีชีวิตของชาวอเมริกันและชาวอเมริกันเชื้อสายเอเชียที่อาศัยในสหรัฐอเมริกาในปัจจุบัน

On April 28, 2019, Thailand Office of Agricultural Affairs, Los Angeles, as part of Team Thailand, launched the Puang Manee Durian and allowed spectators to taste for the first time in the U.S. at Thai New Year Songkran Festival 2019 set up in Hollywood Thai Town, Los Angeles. The goal of this activity is to promote more diverse of Thai agricultural products into the U.S. market. The Puang Manee, although well-recognized in Thailand, is considered a fresh variety here in the U.S. Introducing it also accounts for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives’ policy to ease the problem of oversupply of durian products in Thailand. During the course of tasting, the Puang Manee gain a well-reception as great taste and its advantage of small size, which can be consumed at one time, flattering the current consumption behavior of the American lifestyle.
